Tips: The display hyperlink in cell is not really Hyperlink addressĬonfiguration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Then, we'd better check the really hyperlinks.( Home tab>Insert> Hyperlink> Hyperlink address)
This tip discusses ways you can get around this behavior so that you have clickable hyperlinks in shared workbooks. This doesnt occur, however, if the workbook is shared the URL or address remains regular text. Block opening of pre-release versions of file formats new to Excel 2016 through the Compatibility. I recommend you use the UNC address method. When you enter a URL or e-mail address in a worksheet, Excel usually converts it to a clickable hyperlink. Scan encrypted macros in Excel Open XML workbooks. The UNC address of a server location may be: \\MyServer\MyFolderĪ link that uses the UNC address would look like this:Ī link that uses the mapped drive would look like this:Īs long as the computer has a mapped D:\ drive, the link should work, if it doesn't, the link is broken. It does truly insert a hyperlink but I just get an error message stating "cannot open the specified file.Do you mind telling us which link format are you using? Are you linking to a mapped drive letter or a Universal Name Convention (UNC) address? There is an ugly but easy way to get an hyperlink in a shared workbook. I confirm that the statement 'the only option is to unshare the workbook' is not true. =HYPERLINK("'CHANGE LOG'!" "CHANGE LOG") and alternatively just type into your desired cell 'hyperlink' and add whatever hyperlink you need. Now I've tried inserting something like this: =HYPERLINK("url_goes_here", "cell_content_here") I have confirmed that 'Add Links' is checked in Preferences.
In the Formula Bar for the cell you want the link in, use the following formula: (From the Table of Contents to other pages, and from the page titles back to the ToC, etc.) These worked fine in Excel 2007 when I used 'Create PDF', but now that I'm remaking this file in Excel 2016, the hyperlinks do not come across in the PDF creation process.

Now I've looked around a bit to find out how to do this - because as you may know Excel doesn't allow you to use hyperlinks when the workbook is shared (at least not that I know of) - and I don't want to - unshare workbook > insert hyperlink > reshare - as that means losing the tracking we've made so far :( while searching i found very few fixes for it and the few that i found were ineffective. I've got an excel document where we've enabled the "Track Changes" functionality in order to capture who's changes what and when - for this you'd have to share the workbook. However, if you click on one of the Hyperlinks with the spreadsheet open in Excel on the tablet, you only get the error 'Cannot open the specified file'.
